1. My strategy for finding how a fraction is equivalent to any other given fraction is by multiplying the Numerator and the denominator by the same number if the denominators are the same, for example, 4/6
8/12, these two numbers are equivalent because 4 multiplied by 2
8, and 6 multiplied by 2.
2. My strategy for finding out weather a fraction is between zero and 1/2, and 1/2 and 1 is to look at your fraction. If it is it is between 1/2 and 1, and if your denominator is 2 it is between zero and 1/2 .
3. My way of deciding which of two fractions are larger by looking at the fraction if the denominators are the same suppose they are 3/5 and 4/5 the larger one would be 4/5 because 4 is greater than 3 and on a fraction strip it would be more, and if there are two fractions with different denominators suppose 5/10 and 5/9, 5/9 would be bigger because there are bigger sections in 9ths than 10ths. Fraction with the greater numerator is bigger. if the denominators were different you would have to find equivalent fractions and then you could see which one is bigger.
4. My way to turn mixed numbers into fractions is first you look at your mixed number suppose 2 ¾ you would multiple 4 x 2 and that would be 8 you would add it by 3 and get 11 so your number would be 11/4 you would use the 4 because that was already your denominator in the mixed number. 11/4 is now an improper fraction.
